The Brown Bag Concert Series: You Bring the Eats. We Bring the Beats.

The Brown Bag Concert Series returns to Davis Park Wednesday, May 20 with a performance by Mike Pushkin and Josh Thomas of the group600LBS OF SIN!.

The free lunchtime concerts will be held 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month, May through September. The Brown Bag Concerts are presented by the Charleston Area Alliance and sponsored by American Medical Facilities Management (AMFM).

Attendees are encouraged to stop by a participating Downtown Charleston restaurant, grab a “brown bag” takeaway lunch special and make your way to Davis Park for free music.

The Charleston Area Alliance is partnering with the American Federation of Musicians Local 136 to present the concerts.

Adelphia Sports Bar & Grille (218 Capitol St.): fish tacos with chips and a soft drink for $7.99.
Timothy’s at The Quarrier Diner (1022 Quarrier St.): four pork peg legs for $3.50 with slaw, fries or onion rings for an additional $1.70.
Faithy’s Corner Cafe (180 Summers St.): hot dog, fries and canned drink for $5.
Sam’s Uptown Cafe (28 Capitol St.): fried green tomato BLT, with chips, a pickle and a can of soda for $7.95.
Swiftwater General Store (301 Capitol St.): tuna salad or chicken salad croissant, bag of chips or piece of fruit, cookie and fountain drink for $7.
Mission Savvy Cafe and Juice Bar (202 Hale St.): veggie taco, kale chips, lemonade and brownie ball for $12.
Taylor Books (226 Capitol St.): turkey chili soup and assorted sandwiches and salads.
The Block Restaurant and Wine Cellar (201 Capitol St.): spinach soup and shaved pastrami with feta fries and a fountain drink for $16.
Pies and Pints Pizzeria (222 Capitol St.): three types of pizza by the slice, including its spinach and garlic pizza slice for $4, pepperoni pizza slice for $3 and cheese pizza slice for $3.
Sam’s Hot Dog Stand (211 Hale St.): homemade pork barbecue sandwich and chips and a drink for $6.09. Substitute chips for homemade macaroni salad for $6.59.

Come out and join us for some fresh air, good music, and great food.
