“Dress for Success” donations to be collected During Elevations Academy

The 200 area women attending next week’s “Women, Finance & Philanthropy” workshop won’t just be learning how to empower themselves through financial literacy and community service, they’ll also have the chance to put what they’ve learned into action that day.

“Dress for Success” will be collecting donations of women’s career clothing, outerwear, shoes, jewelry and accessories during the first two hours of the workshop.  Local Dress for Success representatives will be on hand to accept contributions and provide tax receipts to donors. The mission of Dress for Success is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

Attendees will also receive continuing education credits for their attendance.  The program has been approved for 3.3 hours of CLE credit for attorneys, while CPAs will earn 3 CPE credit hours.

Fewer than five individual tickets remain available for the inaugural Elevations Enrichment and Leadership Academy, to be presented by the Charleston Area Alliance and DOW on Tuesday, Sept. 14 at the Embassy Suites. Speakers include First Lady Gayle Manchin, philanthropist Betty Schoenbaum and BB&T President Phyllis Arnold, along with panels featuring some of region’s most knowledgeable women in the fields of finance and philanthropy. This promises to be the region’s premier networking and leadership event for young professional and executive women.

Individual registration is $70 for Alliance members and $85 for future members.  Click here to register.

The program has been submitted for CLE and CPE credit, making it an incredible value for accountants and attorneys who need continuing education credits.

This promises to be the region’s premier networking and educational event for young professional and executive women.
