Grow Your Business & Our Community Through the Alliance Internship Program

Matthew G. Ballard
The Charleston Area Alliance’s 2010 Internship Development Program is underway. This annual member service, which began in 2008, promotes internships with area businesses to students attending higher education institutions throughout the region.
The purpose of the program is to help member businesses identify potential qualified employees and develop and retain the region’s future leaders. With the experience gained interning with local businesses, students will be more qualified for full-time employment at the conclusion of their education or skills training. Both paid and unpaid internships are eligible for this program.
The deadline for participating in the 2010 Internship Development Program is Friday, April 23. To submit information about your internship opportunity, or for other information, contact Lesley Hager, lhager@charlestonareaalliance.org or 304-340-4253
The Alliance will forward information about your opportunity to surrounding colleges and universities. Interested students will contact you directly regarding their interest in your internship.
Our members tell us workforce development issues are one of their greatest challenges. The region’s growth depends on increasing our intellectual capital — educated and skilled employees. The Internship Development Program is just one way the Alliance is bringing the education and business sectors together to build a workforce equipped for the needs of today and tomorrow.
Until next time,
Matthew G. Ballard
