Michael Kaiser to Discuss Challenges Facing the Arts
The Clay Center on April 7 will host Michael M. Kaiser, president of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Dr. David Wohl, dean of the College of Arts and Humanities at West Virginia State University, will interview Mr. Kaiser about the challenges facing non-profit arts organizations today.
Mr. Kaiser will answer questions regarding general arts management. Kaiser has been dubbed the “turnaround king” for his work at the Kansas City Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Ballet Theater and the Royal Opera House in London. You might have read his book, “The Art of the Turnaround,” which includes his own personal philosophy on arts management.
Registration is scheduled for 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. and will include a meet and greet. His interview follows from 10:15 to 11:15 am.
